- A personal and maybe controversial tip:
- Use WinVN 0.82 instead. IMHO, it is a newsreader superior to WinQVTNEt.
- I use WinQVTNET for ftp and telnet only.

-
- Precisely because of your last sentence is why the executable should always
- stay the same name. The ZIP file's name should be changed to reflect the new
- version, obviously, but that is not needed in the EXE itself. If the EXE is
- placed on a file server with multiple people pointing to it, now everyone of
- them will have to change whereas before, simply overwriting the file is
- enough. Of course, it isn't a big deal to just rename the file back to
- WINTALK.EXE which is what I'll do.

- You don't even need it for ftp or telnet. Use ws_ftp and trmptel instead, both of
- which are superior to qvtnet. WS_FTP can be obtained from the cica site, and
- trmptel from ftp.utas.edu.au.
-
- Qvtnet is just too buggy - something is always wrong with each new version that
- came out, including 3.97.
